Session #1:
Creatively LEAN –Coloring Our Way to Quality
Come join us as we go to work for Coloring Pages Inc. “Where Coloring Changes Lives”. Coloring Pages Inc. has quality problems and has requested our help.
Join in while Paul Harbath and Chris Hayes from the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) of Utah use a creative approach to teach the concept of Standardized Work. This entertaining exercise is aimed at process analysis and improvement and how Standardized Work can insure that the customer gets what they want, on-time, every time.
Standardized Work is considered a critical component of continuous improvement. Like continuous improvement, it is not rigid and is intended to be changed by the value-add associates on the production floor as they improve their processes. In these times of turnover and training challenges, Standardized Work becomes even more significant. It can get employees connected to their jobs and the company more quickly and insure they have the tools to do their jobs right - the first time. Standardized Work becomes the basis for future product and process improvement and allows a company to gain the competitive advantage.
So, get ready to have some fun while learning some new exciting concepts that will help your own organizations as they strive for continuous improvement and superior product quality.
